Shielded Jupiter's thunderous oak wreath (original)

Original pendant inspired by the greco-roman religion and the apollonian cult.

Jupiter/Zeus is the Sky-Father, patriarchal figure among the gods, he was Dyeus Pater to the proto-indo-europeans. He is the husband of Juno/Hera. Ares/Mars and Apollo are both his sons, Diana his daughter.

His name Zeus is the Greek continuation of Di̯ēus, the name of the Proto-Indo-European god of the daytime sky, also called Dyeus ph2tēr ("Sky Father"). In Latin, Jupiter, from Iuppiter, deriving from the Proto-Indo-European dyeu-ph2tēr, deriving from the root dyeu- ("to shine", and in its many derivatives, "sky, heaven, god").

Jupiter has supervision over justice and righteousness, he was considered witness to oaths and treaties between men (epithet Horkios "Oath"), and was patron of fathers and leaders (epithets Patrios "Paternal" & Koryphaios "Leader").

The pendant is made of an oak wreath. Wreaths were awarded to victors in athletic competitions, to winners of artistic tournaments, and they were also used to crown commanders of martial victories. Zeus was depicted oak-wreathed on a gold coin from 350 BC.

The inside of the pendant is made of three lightning bolts, which Jupiter is known to wield like a javelin. The lighning bolt represents the ability to strike down your foes and quick, decisive actions (epithet Labrandos "Raging"). The number of them represents the three Iindo-european functions, their six points references the fact that Zeus is the 6th son of Rhea/Ops. In the center is the iconic and very regal Zeus Otricoli bust.
